How To Become A Successful Digital Publisher

Long gone are the days where you have to wait for a publishing company to decide if they want your content or not. You can publish content on the web within seconds of creating it. This is GREAT NEWS because you can become a successful digital publisher in no time.

Contrary to popular belief, passion isn't enough to rake in the profits from digital publishing. You'll need a profitable topic. Once you have a profitable topic, there are a few steps that you can take to put that topic to work for you.

Step #1 Build An Email List: in this stage, you're just seeing who is interested. All you're doing is collecting leads. In order to collect leads, you'll need a lead magnet. This can be a free course, webinar, eBook, or mindmap about the topic at hand. You can create your own lead magnet or buy private label rights content to create it.

Step #2 (A)  Build A Facebook Group: plug your new leads into a community where you can provide value to them. Getting new leads connected to the culture of your community fast is a great way to extend the lifetime value of the relationship. Outside of plugging your leads into your community, you want to invite them to virtual events held there so they can stay plugged in. Many group leaders do 3-5 days of challenges which lead up to a sale. Other leaders offer free webinars to help leads see the benefits of their services.

Step #2 (B)  Send A follow-up message: introduce who you are, what you do, and how you can help your new leads reach their goals. Help them to get settled in and give the next steps to progress towards their success on the subject at hand.

Step #3 Turn Your Lead Into A Customer: you want your new leads to transition from prospect to customer fast. In all honesty, you can't offer them much help if they're not paying you for your services. You'll find yourself tired and frustrated if you keep providing value for free. You want to quickly weed out the investors from the freeloaders because you simply cannot carry dead weight. Offer a low-cost upsell as soon as possible. I typically do mines right away because it's a part of the getting started process, but you can do it at the end of a challenge, a webinar, or an introductory follow-up email. The upsell should be between $1-47 dollars. Even if it's a dollar, this will tell you a lot about who you have on your list. It will also help your leads overcome the psychological barrier of becoming your customer so you can really help them achieve their goals.
