So, you’re thinking about starting a blog? Awesome! You're probably wondering, how do I start a blog
and make money blogging?
But...getting started can be difficult. The internet is full of blog stuff; it’s a wonder you’re
suffering from information overload. You’re probably confused about what to do.
Crap, you just can’t seem to get started – it’s too hard!
But, you can do it. I remember my first few weeks on the web. I was literally banging my head
against the wall trying to start my blog.
I started my 1st blog way back in 2012, and I had no clue how to blog. I had just been told
to blog daily. So, I took a stab at it. I was able to get a lot of viewers but no money. I had no idea how
to monetize my blog. I thought all I had to do was put affiliate links in between my paragraphs. I didn't
know how to turn my traffic into leads and convert sales.
I wish I had known then what I know right now – Since I’ve been able to earn a full-time income
from home. This success came through trial and error though. One day, I finally stumbled upon the
right information and discovered how to develop a blog strategy.

1. We are most certainly living in the information age. People crave and want good
information. Did you know that over 70% of the information you Google was provided by
bloggers just like you and me? This is what makes you such a hot commodity. Major
search engine providers will rank your specialized knowledge so that people who are
searching the web for information can find you.
2. When people find your specialized knowledge on the web, through your blog, you can market related
products and services to them. The products and services that you offer through your
blog can create generous profits for you.
3. You get to exchange value with content consumers all over the world on whatever topics
you enjoy the most. You'll be helping a lot of people do something that could change their life forever.
4. Blogging helps you learn more about yourself and the world around you. At the same
time, it helps you grow your profits around the lifestyle you want so you’re not stuck doing things that
you dislike.
That’s great to know, isn’t it?
Here are a few quick tips to starting your blog
Set aside time to focus on creating your blog, maybe about 2 hours. Why so long?
Because we need to develop a blog strategy first. The blog strategy can help you better define
why you’re starting your blog, the kind of topics you want to discuss on your blog, and how to
monetize your blog. The better defined your blog goals are, the more success you could have. That's
why the planner is so important. Inside, I walk you through the entire strategy process.

Alright, here we go. No procrastinating here, let’s jump into step 1 of the course
Step 1 – Develop A Blog Strategy
There's an entire section inside of the course on creating a blog strategy.
However, I want to reveal two of the most important aspects of your blog strategy. They’re insanely
important. They are value and profits. Value and profits lead the way in developing a successful blog.
What will you exchange in value for monetary gain?
Let’s be real, we are not blogging for our health, but we are blogging for our wealth. Yet, when
you lead with value, profits seem to come. As you’re mapping out your blog strategy, think
about who your audience is and what their needs are in the marketplace.
It’s been said, “when you provide enough people with what they need, you will get everything
that you need to become wildly successful.”
Dig deep into your niche and discover some problems in which you have the
solutions for, you could exchange those solutions for money.
The Ultimate Blog Strategy Questions
1. What does my audience need?
2. How can I provide that need?
3. What will I charge for my solutions?
People will pay you to solve the problems that keep them up at night. So, you literally have
to build your blog around the solutions that people need. Once you’ve mapped out some strong
solution-based posts, think of ways to monetize those posts. How are you going to call your audience
to action? Do you have a related affiliate offer, or do you own your own product and services?

When you’re creating your content try to add value and a call to action. That’s the point of
blogging for profit. The post provides a sample of the solutions your audience can have if they
respond to the call to action.
Step 2 – Choose your preferred blogging platform
Now that you have a clear blog strategy, choose your blogging platform. Perhaps, you’ve heard
of WordPress. Although I use other blogging platforms, WordPress is by far my favorite one.
It’s gigantic. It’s been called the world’s largest blogging platform. WordPress allows you to have a ton
of plugins, add-ons, and the blogging platform offers many creative ways for you to personalize the
look and feel of your blog. With nearly 100 million users, many have found WordPress to be a staple
platform for blogging.
Some Alternatives To WordPress Are:
Blogger – It’s a great Free platform that has a few upgraded features.
Tumbler– It offers both a blog and a social network.
Here’s why I choose WordPress to house my major blogs.
1. WordPress has a free and paid version; meaning, you have the option to host your own
blog.
2. There are multiple themes, plug-in, and add-ons that can help you monetize your site.
The many WordPress options allow you to turn your blog into a store, a membership site,
a course site, or all 3. The sky is the limit with WordPress.
3. There are tons of resources such as YouTube videos, search engine articles and support
forums to help you if you get stuck, or you could JOIN HERE for tons of resources to get started.
4. You only have about 20-30 seconds to capture your visitor’s attention so the load speed
with WordPress will help you retain your visitors.
5. It’s easy for visitors to share and engage with your content on WordPress.
We’re On A Roll . . .
Step 3 – Self-hosting & Alternatives
Making the decision to self-host or choose a free alternative is a big decision. I started out with
a free option and migrated to a paid option later. Here's a great hosting solution.
Blogger and Tumbler are free for anybody. WordPress has both a free and paid option. So,
you’ve got choices? Free hosting is great as it’s awesome for those who just want to practice
blogging. Yet, free hosting has its issues.
1) You don’t own your domain name
URL’s on Free blogs are less attractive, long, and they belong to the host. Below you’ll find
some of my Free blog domains
https://earnmoneyonlinedailywithtdaviscole.blogspot.com/p/welcome_25.html
https://dailyinspirationalbibleverses.blogspot.com/
Here are some of my Paid URL’s
The free ones are bulky looking, and they have an added hostname. Yet, the paid ones are
easy, short, and professional looking. Of course, you can shorten the links but you still don't own the
blog or the content that you create on it.
2) There are major limits on free blogging platforms
It’s hard to fully monetize your blog if it’s hosted on a free platform. You’re only allowed so
much space to upload images and content – it’s all limited.
You have limited access to WordPress Themes and you only get offered a few themes on the
other free platforms too.
3) You’ll never own your blog
If your blog is hosted on a free platform, you don’t own it. It’s technically someone else’s
property and they can do whatever they want with it. In short, your blog can vanish without
your consistent and without you being notified. It’s happened to me before. I’ll never forget it. I
cried like a baby because I had worked so hard on it. Yet, it’s important that you read all the
terms and conditions of free hosting sites. If you violate one of the terms, without even knowing
it, they can delete your account.
The Benefits of Self-Hosting Makes It A Winner
Yet, when you self-host and build your blog on your own hosting– you actually own the blog.
You can name it whatever you want and although you should be up to par with the FTC
guidelines, you can sell just about anything on it. You can choose your ending suffixes such as
.com or .org. Most paid hosting options have an unlimited bandwidth which allows you to
upload as many videos, audios, and images that you want.
Hosting isn’t even that expensive. You can host your blog for as little as $5 dollars a month or you
could pay a little more depending on your hosting needs. Here's a great hosting option.
If you still don’t understand how to host your own domain; I can break it down a little further for
you. In the course, but for now:
You’ll need to pick a domain name that you like and find somewhere to host that domain. Think
of it as finding the exact floor plans for your house, but now you’ve got to find the perfect piece
of land to build it on.
Domain: Your domain is just the name of your blog. An example would be
https://totallymybiz.com/ is the name of my domain. (Totally My Biz) is the domain name that I picked.
Sometimes, you'll like a domain name but it may not be available. You'll have to pick a different name
until you find one that you like and that is available.
Hosting: Your hosting is where your domain name lives so that people can visit you on the
web. It’s your virtual real estate. I use Bluehost Managed WordPress. I am an affiliate of Bluehost so if
you use my link, I may get a commission. I can show you how to use Bluehost Managed WordPress
and possibly earn affiliate commission from referrals too. JOIN HERE
Step 4 – Set Up Your Blog With WordPress
In this course, I show you (step-by-step) how to set up your blog. Seriously, there’s no sense in
being redundant. Everything you need to know is HERE.
I’ve also embedded a video below to walk you through the entire process. (Watch The Video).
Sweet; right?
Personally, I learn best through visual education, and I love to follow along.
If you follow along, you should have a great grip on starting your blog.
Step 5 – Promote Your Blog
The most important element of your blog is promotion.
Outside of great content, you need 3 major things on your site. Those 3 things are a lead
magnet, an upsell, and follow-up series. Because 80% of people do not make a purchasing
decision the first time they encounter new products and services. Meaning you need a way to
capture your visitors and build a relationship with them. (Watch The Video ).
There’s no point in having a blog if no one ever visits it. Imagine if you had a restaurant with
great cuisines, but no one ever came to eat dinner. What would be more important, the fancy
wallpaper and expensive china or the actual customers who dine there?

Honestly, it doesn’t matter how great your blog looks if you don’t get traffic, leads, and
conversions on your site, it doesn't make any money at all. 0 Traffic = 0 Leads = 0 Profits.
You can increase your blog traffic by using the share features that come with your theme, you can
search WordPress plugins for additional share options. Share your content on the web with a simple
click on your blog. Discover more ways to drive mad traffic to your blog. ( JOIN HERE)
Starting a blog for profit is a little more than grabbing a domain name and setting up some
